Team -M Upcoming Demo in Southern California
Team-M will be making a guest appearance at the International Taekwondo Festival 2009, an international tournament with over 5000 attendees. The event will be held in Southern California on June 6 and 7, 2009. Team-M is honored to have been invited to perform at the event’s opening ceremony and is looking forward to putting on a spectacular show. Team-M Celebrates 5 Year Anniversary”

2009 Spring Parade
For the past five years Team-M has participated in the Annual TET parade in downtown San Jose. February 8, 2009, was no different than past years. Participating in the annual TET parade is one way Team-M stays connected with the bigger communities. It is also an opportunity for them to spread their love of Taekwondo through demonstrations while having fun entertaining the public.

On January 17, 2009, City of San Jose, CA hosted '2009 Tet Festival' at the San Jose Convention Center, South Hall. San Jose has a strong Vietnamese community presence. Team-M Members Making 2010 US Nationals Team!
After months of rigorous training and frequent demonstrations, Team-M managed to have 8 members competing at the 2010 U.S. Nationals Championship in Orlando, Florida. Among the team competitors were Coach Huy Nguyen, Anh Nguyen, Long Nguyen, Alvin Jong, Rocky Cao, Albert Jong, Justin Want, & Alex Twu. Everyone who competed medaled in their respective divisions along with 5 members making the 2010 US Nationals Poomsae Team. These members will get the chance to represent USA to compete at the 5th World Poomsae Championships in Uzbekistan as well as the 1st Senior Pan Am Poomsae Championships in Mexico later on this year.
After returning from Nationals, Coach Huy commented “With Poomsae being a growing aspect of modern Taekwondo, Team-M is hoping to bring even more competitors to next year’s Nationals, which will be held in our hometown – San Jose, CA. In the mean time, the team will be training hard to prepare for the upcoming international competitions. Besides the two major international Poomsae championships, Team-M is also looking to compete at the World Hanmadang in Korea in the Fall.”

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Team-M wrapped up the 2009 year with its annual Christmas Party at the coaches’ home on December 20th. The team’s annual Christmas party is an event in which the coaches, members, families and friends look forward to each year. This is the day where members can forget about the famous “weight chart” and training gears to relax and have fun. The Christmas spirit was evidenced as Team-M members gathered around Coach Huy playing the keyboard to sing the famous song, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”, but added in with some “taekwondo” version lyrics created by one of the Team-M members. The performance was Team-M’s fun way to wish all their supporters, fans, friends, and families a joyous holiday season!
May 2010 – Most Eventful Month!
In Team-M’s 6 years history, May 2010 has definitely become the busiest month ever with team members taking on 7 events! The month started with Head Coach Huy Nguyen conducting the Demonstration Theory course at a Kukkiwon Seminar and continued on with team competitions along with several demonstration performances. At the end of the month, 5 Team-M Juniors even managed to finish strong with their last event of the month by competing and bringing home 6 Gold Medals, 2 Silvers, and 1 Bronze. On Memorial Day, May 31st, Team-M members were able to finally take a break and enjoy some leisure time with some good old BBQ at a local lake park.
Coming up next - Team-M members will be performing at a Grand Opening for a new Taekwondo Gym (theparkgym.com) on June 27th. Team-M coaches and captains will also be training rigorously to prepare for the 2010 US Poomsae Team Trials in Orlando, Florida in July.

On January 17th, 2009, Team-M will once again partner up with one of the top Bay Area Lion Dancing teams, Far East Dragon to put on an exhibition for the 2009 Tet Festival. Don't miss out on the spectacular lion dancing routines, thrilling Taekwondo performances, and especially the exhibition's grand finale that guarantees to take your breath away. Come see the groups live in action on Saturday, January 17th at the South Hall (435 South Market Street, San Jose, CA).
